HAPPY ANNIVERSITY JUSTIN AND SUSIE!

I am getting so bad about getting cards out. I might just start using the blog and e mail. I always get the cards out to late or too early.
Got a yellow room now! Ann and Susan came over this weekend and painted Susan's old room. I felt like if Susan now has a house I could repaint the room.
It looks great.
Now I am ready for Bill and dad to get together and put the blue carpet in there.
This will be the grandchildrens room when they spend nights.
Oh, I will let others sleep in there to, but it does have toys in it.
Not much to say. Can not wait to get rain. So tired of living in a cave. Got to keep all the blinds closed to keep it cool in the house.
Until later, take care and keep posting.

WHAT A BUSY SUMMER

Last post I was going to Indiana.
What a busy time since than. Had a great time in Indiana, got home for one week and than took off to Montana. I than adventured to the west coast, Oregon with John and his Montana family.
Had a greattttttttttttttt time and saw alot of beautiful America.
Found out what is was like to really camp out. That was great. Gabe and I spent alot of time in the back sit of the car. He is very smart and is a great traveler.
Needless to say that I was tired after all of the traveling. At that at that point I had no idea what was ahead of me.
Go to Houston!!!! Yes now I commute to Houston everyday to work. Girling made a change and I had to go with it. I love the people I work with. This week the computers were down in Houston so I came to work in Wharton for a afternoon and morning. Found out that I am glad to be in Houston. Wharton group are just to gossipy. Is that a word? I think that you get the message.
Well, the week I started traveling to Houston, Deanna and the girls came home. Busy, times, but they were great. Thanks to Billy we had a great barbecue on Sunday and were able to go to the beach on Saturday. Thanks Bill for being the man of the weekend. We all had a great time!
I love having all the girls together, Amanda, Deanna, Sue, and Ann. I am so blessed with such great children. Now, do not forget the grandchildren! Garrett, Lance,Shelby, and Tessa all were great Saturday night when the girls went out for a night out. The funniest part of the time? I think it has to be when Deanna sat on Garrett when he was trying to sleep on the couch Saturday morning. Needless to say that was a rude awaking! Woke up the rest of the house!
Now, all are back in their homes. The house is quiet and I am trying to get it straightened up.
Getting ready for the next great visits.
Yesterday, Saturday, 08/08/08, I took Grandma Heimann to see her sister, Evelyn Holub in Houston. She is dying of lung cancer. That was a tough one. Will let all you know when something happens with that. I really do not think she will be with us to much longer. She was always such a happy person and it was hard to see her so sick. Grandma is a trooper. She just says"what can you do. That is just the way it is. " It is not going to be easy when she does pass and the funeral is not going to be easy. Life is life, what else is there to say.
Grand ma and I did have lunch with Sue and then I took her shopping for her birthday.
All try to send Grandma a birthday card on August 21. She thinks of all of you all the time.
Ed and Anna along with Brian's wife and kids are going to Brain's graduation from boot camp.
He has been in basic training in Alabama since June 4the and graduates on Aug14. He will be home in October. They are also going to Arkansa to see Lisa. Coy and her are now stationed in Little Rock, Arkansa for 2-3 years.
Better close for now. Need to get ready for church. This afternoon Dad and I are going to Ryan's grandma services in Rosenberg. She died on Friday.
Sam Halbert, remember our neighbor, is in hospice now also. Ruby is so sweet. It has been hard seeing her gradually lose him. They were a living love story. You kids know what I mean.
See ya! Love mom.

INDIANA

Is it feally June!?
I get to go to Indiana this week.
I will fly out Tuesday at 7:20pm and will be home Sunday night. Ann and Ryan are taking me to the airport. I am packing my Texas shorts. Deanna said that it is hot and humid like Texas. I just can not get away from it.
This has been a busy week. Gloria and Julius trimmed their saga palms on Sunday and I planted 14 in the yard on Monday and Tuesday. We will see how many come up. Yes, the ground was hard! Found out how out of shape I am.
I finally got my glasses now also. The first pair I got the lens was to narrow for the progressive lens and I had to go back again and get a different style. Now I can see again.
Today Dad works and I am going to the Kolache-Klobase Festival at Riverside for a while this afternoon. Tomorrow on Father's day we are going to Bill and Amanda's. Get this -- Dad told me last night on the phone that he is bring his beer to sit back and forget about everything. That is the first time that I every heard Dad talk about bring his own beer. "I just want to sit and drink beer with Bill." So we will see if I have to drive home. I doubt it, but I never know what to expect.
So all have a great Father's Day and I will post when I get back from Indiana.

MAY IS GONE!

What happen to May!. One day it is May the 1st and now it is the 31st. Of course for some people, like teachers, that was great. Congratulations Susan for completing a first school year from HELL!
This the first weekend in May that I am actually home all weekend.
1st weekend Retreat from Thursday to Sunday
2nd weekend Graduation in Lubbock with moving Ann and Ryan home
3rd weekend On call
4th weekend Matagorda with the Heimanns
So you can see that there is a lot to catch up on around this house.
I am going to let Ann take the Explorer to El Campo today and bring it back on Sunday. This way I have to stay at home.
Getting new glasses finally. For those who might remember Dr. Snelling the eye doctor, he is retiring so I went to see him this week. It had been 4 years! Cannot believe that.
Well, Ann went with me to Eyemasters to help find some new frames and after 1 1/2 hours of looking we got the job done.
Dad works all weekend, so I should be able to get some closets clean. It all depends how good my book gets or what is on TV.
I have two more weeks before I leave for Shelby's dance recital. Can not wait.
Will close for now. See you at the end of June. (Sooner if you are lucky)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHIRLY

We had a great weekend. It started alittle scarry. I had gotten up Saturday morning and just enjoying being at home when Dad called me about 9:00 and said that he was on his way home. He had had a spill at work and hit his head. Scared me!!!
When he got here he explained that when he was pulling a plate off the machine the magnet slipped and he lost his balance and he fell backward and hit his head on the trash bin on the way down. He had a knot on his head and an abrasion. Thank God it was not any worst, because it sure could have been. He said that when he started his morning off like that he said it was time to come home. He took a nap and felt better. We went to Shirley's 50th birthday party. It was real nice. Good food and Good company.
Today we stayed around the house. Amanda, you need to tell the boys that Grandma's fan in her room got fixed. Yes, Robert put up a new fan in my bedroom and a new light in our bathroom. Whoa it is great to have some things fixed around the house.
I actually sewed alittle this afternoon and planted some flowers.
The other thing that occurred today is that our neighbor came and cleaned up the lot. He is serious about selling it. He put a big wood sign on the lot in big orange letters, "Lot for sale" with his phone number. Than he put a sign on at the end of the street on Cty Rd. 2919 with an arrow saying lot for sale. So we will see what will happen now.
Going to go read my book now. Actually it is Sue's book, "PS, I love you." It is good.
Dad is going to bed, but I took a 2 hour nap, so I do not believe I can go to sleep now.
All have a great week!
